About Glenelg Country School
Glenelg Country School is a non-sectarian, co-educational, college preparatory school serving students from age 2 through grade 12 on 90-acre campus just minutes from Columbia, MD, with approximately 800 students.

Overview of Essential Functions
Teaching the art, architecture, music, and literature of global civilizations with an emphasis on early modern and modern Europe.
• Expanding students’ ability to interpret art, architecture, and music as primary sources for the cultures they study.
• Teaching music and related aspects of global civilizations.
• Employing art history and literature as tools to explore cultural connections and essential ideas.
• Adopting non-Western texts, art, and perspectives to move the course beyond the horizons of a traditional Euro-centric curriculum.
• Collaborating effectively in a team of three to craft and refine a consistent experience for all tenth-grade students in both Honors and On-Level groups.
Key Skills and Attributes:
The successful candidate will bring to GCS a love of working with adolescents and the ability to differentiate instruction among a wide range of learners with appropriate educational technologies. GCS is a thriving community built on the holistic development of its students. All full-time Upper School teachers contribute to clubs and enrichment activities and advise a group of ten or eleven students for their entire Upper School career.
