Glendora Employment Agency, Inc. is a boutique staffing firm located in the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley. Glendora Employment Agency, Inc. specializes in bringing local job seekers together with local employers. We are currently seeking a Junior Estimator for an asphalt contractor in Azusa.
Job Description:
Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
Preparation:
· Prepare work to be estimated by gathering specifications, bid schedules, and plans.
· Submit Requests for Information (RFI’s) to agencies regarding any discrepancies from plans or specifications.
· Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying plans and specifications.
· Research pricing and installation method on special material.
· Calculate prepared estimate with unit pricing or labor and material cost for overall job estimate or cost.
· Create aerial photo plans for reference if no plans are available.
Execution:
· Present prepared estimate by assembling and displaying a detailed itemized take off from plans and
specifications.
· Set up Jobs in Jonas Accounting Software.
· Gather plans and details required to manage and complete project.
· Create Work Orders with itemized detailed take-off and material being used.
· Provide schedule calendar if required by Agency or General Contractor.
· Confirm measured quantities with Agencies if unit price billing applies.
· Resolve issues and solve problems pertaining to current work in progress throughout the project cycle,
and after project completion. Prepare any related correspondence.
· Maintain positive communication with customers via phone, e-mail, USPS, Job Walks, and customer visits.
· Perform other related and assigned duties as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ideal candidates should possess the following skills/qualifications demonstrated through previous work experience:
· 1 - 3 years of project management experience required.
· 1 - 3 years of estimating experience is ideal.
· Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar field preferred.
· Ability to read diagrams and blueprints.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills required to coordinate effectively with team, contractors, and customers.
· Prior experience with Jonas Accounting Software highly preferred.
· Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Position: Temp-to-Hire
Shift: Monday – Fridayfrom8:00am – 5:00pm
Salary: $25 - $30/hour
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
