Responsibilities
Position Summary:

As our Director of Nursing ER at Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center, you will oversee a department of frontline staff and act as the conduit between these caregivers and leadership teams. You will communicate the organization’s goals to the staff as we constantly seek to serve our community by improving patient experience and delivering exceptional quality care. At the same time, you will advocate for your team by bringing any issues, requests, or new ideas from them to senior leadership.

Utilizing your excellent communication skills one-on-one and in front of groups, you will tackle tough conversations and, above all, be an educator at heart. Every interaction is an opportunity to share your knowledge with others and improve their understanding of a patient’s needs, the needs of the staff, and the needs of the organization.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for the overall quality of care provided by department personnel. Advises medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to emergency service and strategies.
  • Interprets policies and objectives of emergency service to staff and community groups.
  • Monitors the operations of the department staff and ensures compliance with regulations on organizational and governmental standards and practices. Schedules staff and conducts employee performance reviews.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (e.g. BSN) or equivalent education and experience and Master's degree in nursing or other-related field (e.g., MSN/MBA/MHA).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience and two (2) years of leadership experience.
Licensure: 
  • Registered Nursing License (RN) in state of practice, Basic Life Support (BLS), other credentials or modules may be required.
