The Environmental Services Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and developing the overall operation of the Environmental Services departments of housekeeping and laundry in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and guidelines. This role supports and directs front line staff to ensure the highest degree of clean laundry/linens and facility cleanliness is always maintained. This position is responsible for staffing, scheduling, training, by establishing daily work schedules, assignment of duties and training on supplies and equipment. The Director establishes and monitors procedures to ensure efficient and standardized work methods are followed.
The Director develops a strategic quality plan for the department in alignment with overall organizational plan to include a departmental dashboard to track, trend and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The role is also responsible for oversight of the facilities comprehensive waste management program including the handling and disposable of all hazard waste needs. The Director integrates infection prevention and control guidelines and standards within environmental hygiene operations, including waste management, housekeeping, and laundry.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree in management, leadership, business, or closely related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of general environmental services experience, including one year of supervisory experience. Healthcare setting experience preferred. 
  • Consideration will be given for candidates with at least two years of general environmental services experience including one year of staff supervision, and/or an acceptable equivalent combination of experiences.
  • Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) certification preferred.
Schedule: 
This position is scheduled Monday-Friday day hours. Occasional evening needs to meet with the staff, conduct meetings, etc.
