The Solution Engineer will be part of the Market Access engineering team delivering value continuously by collaborating with the Product Manager, Business Partner, Engineering team & Market Access business team to design, develop and implement digital and technology solutions, write user stories, set strategy & vision & execute business process re-engineering. The Solution Engineer ensures the solution are fit for purpose & use, cost effective and/or innovative & in alignment with the Tech strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work independently creating clear and cohesive visions for Market Access Product(s) i.e., understand current capabilities and drive future state architecture in alignment with GSK Tech Strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues from multi-disciplinary backgrounds to set/contribute a clear and cohesive tech strategy for Market Access Tech, whilst still maintaining space to incorporate new ideas along the journey.
  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies and propose changes to the existing capabilities to benefit GSK's rapidly growing Market Access business unit.
  • Responsible for leading, collaborating & overseeing autonomous cross-functional squads to define and independently engineer solutions delivering desired business strategy outcomes at pace.
  • identifying core needs and offering a high-level solution design accounting for constraints placed by compliance user stories.
  • specifying the architecture solution design user stories for a fit for purpose & use.
  • Helping team(s) create hypotheses with rapid experimentation. Testing assumptions and validating solutions through a mix of lean design sprints, workshops, and dual-track agile.
  • leading the team through the development process addressing architecture constraints, mentoring, writing code snippets & setting & holding to code quality & standards.
  • Break down complex problems into steps that drive product development and bring your stakeholders/team along the journey.
  • Help to craft prioritized opportunity roadmaps - linked to problems to be solved and in turn business outcomes.
  • GSK standards are adhered to with handling, processing, security & privacy of data, compliant with internal security, risk management policies and practices, external regulatory and statutory requirements e.g., GxP, Sarbanes Oxley and that Tech continuity plans are in place for all business-critical products.
  • Build relationships both internally & externally, collaborating closely with technologists and industry experts to stay abreast of industry trends, disruptions, and best practices.
  • Partner with Product(s) engineering team(s) to accelerate the modernizing & securing of Tech stacks aligned with GSK technology strategy and reduce cost of technology offerings.
Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • BA/BSc degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 5 years' experience in engineering digital and tech solutions in pharma industries with knowledge of processes and products like Revenue & Contract Management Operations, Medicaid, Government Pricing, Gross to Net & Master Data Management.
  • Experience working across tech stack.
  • Experience in developing standards, technology, tools, processes, procedures, hardware, software, and services in use for delivering tech solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent relationship management, strong influencing, and communication skills.
  • You've been part of teams that have developed successful software products from concept to adoption.
  • Experience of working within a matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders
  • Can drive outcomes and manage client expectations.
  • Define the beneficial solutions and the ones which are inefficient for a particular business need.
  • High intellectual curiosity and able to learn quickly, assimilating new information and synthesizing viewpoints/hypotheses. Able to become proficient in new areas in weeks, not months.
  • High EQ and empathy for both our external customers (i.e., Patients & Healthcare Professionals) and internal customers (senior stakeholders, cross-functional collaborators). Excited to bring people on the journey with them.
  • Able to evidence their decisions in sound qualitative and/or quantitative analysis and logic. Able to mine, analyze and interpret their own data (Advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, etc.).
  • People who can communicate their ideas, writing precisely and concisely, and able to articulate the 'why' behind their decisions to stakeholders with different levels of understanding and seniority.
  • Pragmatic, resourceful and acts without waiting to be told what to do. An obsessive problem-solver who isn't afraid to 'get out of the building' and engage with customers to uncover their own insights.
  • Enthusiastic contributor to the cultural fabric of our company, lives to see the team succeed together and proactively brings new ideas to the table.
