Glaucoma Consultants of Washington is Hiring an Ophthalmic Technician Near Herndon, VA

Locations and Hours

  • Locations are primarily between our offices in Herndon and Centreville, with the ability to go to Winchester 3-4x a month.
  • Mon-Fri //8:00 - 4:30 // 72-80 hours biweekly. Paycheck by direct deposit only.
  • Staff are expected to arrive 15 mins early to open clinic and prepare for the day.

Looking for a highly motivated individual interested in medical care for patients. This position involves taking patient history, demographics, medications etc. with accurate data input, as well as conducting a variety of ophthalmology/ glaucoma tests and scans with patients prior to being taken back for the doctor. Includes but not limited to visual acuity, OCT scans, visual field testing, fundus photos, IOL measurements, corneal hysteresis etc.

  • Previous ophthalmic technician experience highly valued
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment, quick thinking and dynamic learning style is a must
  • Applicant must have long term availability, be responsible, and be able to multi-task and take initiative. Applicant must be self-motivated, willing to learn. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must to grow and succeed in this role
  • Medical Scrubs are required as uniform - 2 complementary sets provided after hire (Black, Burgundy, Gray)
