Glacier Power Solutions is Hiring a Generator Technician Near Bozeman, MT

Glacier Power Solutions is seeking an experienced & enthusiastic Generator Technician

Experience with power generation equipment installation and maintenance is strongly preferred however others with formal training in mechanical or electrical disciplines will be considered. Glacier Power Solutions will provide technical training and development opportunities for the right candidate.

Primary duties will be installation, repair and maintenance of standby generator systems ranging from 10 kW - 1000 kW.

In the beginning you will perform a wide variety of tasks with the opportunity to specialize in service, installation, or co-ordination as the local team grows.

What You’ll Do – The Role

  • Perform site assessments, job planning and co-ordination of electrician for quality, code compliant and tidy generator installations.
  • Perform service, preventative maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and instruction for customer generators as efficiently as possible.
  • Test, measure, and verify electrical component operations, including energized components and electrical fields.
  • Operate / diagnose engine driven gensets powered by diesel, natural gas or propane and report findings back to customer.
  • Conduct generator pre-inspections and system startups upon completed installation.
  • Help us to build strong customer relationships
  • Complete required service and equipment performance reports as required.
  • Perform maintenance and repair on a range of standby generator and power systems.

What You Need:

  • Superior customer service skills and track record.
  • Power Generation training and/or experience or Mechanic with electrical knowledge preferred
  • Working knowledge of DC and AC electrical systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude and engine and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • A valid driver’s license in good standing.
  • Comfortable using and learning various software platforms.

Working Conditions

  • This is a full time, year round employment opportunity.
  • Heavy lifting and physical exertion is sometimes required.
  • Regular interaction with customers.
  • We strive for 4 x 10 hour days however sometimes it is required to work additional hours during peak activity periods.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
