Role Summary/Purpose

The Quality Assurance Engineer will demonstrate accountability for:

  • Functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
  • Monitor, maintain and improve the Quality Management System and its processes with respect applicable regulatory, internal company and customer standards to meet quality key performance metrics.
  • Assuring Airworthiness continuity in compliance with the FAA, EASA, TCCA and CAAC Regulations.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Performs internal quality assurance audits to assess adherence to standards and internal company requirements.
  • Provides technical quality assurance guidance for investigations and resolution of product and quality system non-conformances.
  • Ensure inspectors and operators in the production floor are following quality and production processes.
  • Stimulate continuous improvement in our processes and support or lead continuous improvements projects using appropriate methodology.
  • Promote suitable quality performance objectives by ensuring that each team in each operational cell uses suitable tools, methods and behaviors.
  • Promote quality policy and quality goals, monitor and report quality indicators for the assigned cells.
  • Maintain a simple and widely used quality system and facilitate, train, and coach team members in the use of Quality and Repair Station Manuals, Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Provide guidance to the cell to ensure product conformity and quality system compliance for the assigned cells.
  • Establish the climate that encourages an open two-way channel of communication whereby employees openly exchange ideas / suggestions and share information.
  • Provide quality leadership and direction to perform root cause analysis and preventive/corrective actions when necessary and check for effectiveness and efficiency of preventive corrective actions.
  • Review and manage customer complaints and warranty claims, provide root cause analysis, corrective actions, and objective evidence and document it as required by the customers.
  • Provide direct Quality support to Industrialization activities and repair operations.
  • Maintain, monitor and ensure compliance with the Calibration Program.
  • Provide support to all repair modification and new repair implementation by validating the First Article Inspection report.
  • Benchmark best practices on QA System within the shareholders networks.
  • Improves own productivity. Exerts positive influence on the teams. Builds relationships and earns respect across multiple internal teams and partner organizations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong technical written, verbal and analytical skills. Must be self-motivated.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Must have strong communication and presentation skills. Must be comfortable presenting at senior management level meetings.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality or Mechanical Engineering in Aerospace industry or other highly regulated technical industry.
  • At least 3 years of technical knowledge in aircraft engine components repairs and process operations or equivalent technical experience in a highly regulated technical field.
  • Must be US Citizen or US Permanent Resident

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience of FAA Part 145, 43, 121, 65, or 21 desirable.
  • AS9100 internal auditor certification desirable.
  • Expertise in problem solving methods such as 8D, Fast 8D, 3 X 5 why’s, DMAIC desirable.
  • Bilingual speaking English/Spanish desirable.
