delivery Driver

Salary Range: $20 to $30 per hour (DOE and state)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting food and other goods from a facility to a personal or business address. Their duties include picking and preparing orders, quality control, loading goods, and using navigation tools to deliver parcels to the correct address. The delivery driver is also responsible for collecting, transporting, and safely delivering a range of items to designated locations, ensuring all orders are delivered on time, in the right condition, and to the right place.

Essential Duties and RESPONSIBILITIEs (Other duties may be assigned):

• Report for duty on time and ensure you use the time clock to check in and out.
• Manage your time, including taking rest and meal breaks, in compliance with state labor laws.
• Maintain high standards of appearance and hygiene that include clean clothes, nails, and hair and no heavy perfumes/colognes.
• Review orders prior to delivery
• Perform vehicle inspection before departing
• Load delivery items safely and efficiently
• Transport, unload, and deliver items safely and securely to prevent damage, spoilage, or loss.
• Follow any customer specifications regarding delivery
• Adhere to time and route schedules
• Navigate routes using relevant map programs
• Determine the best routes taking into consideration traffic congestion, construction, and other factors.
• Communicate traffic delays and other concerns to dispatch as needed
• Obtain delivery confirmation from customers
• Utilize appropriate technology to efficiently manage the delivery process, including handheld technology.
• Accept payments for delivered items
• Handle customer questions and concerns
• Check orders after delivery to ensure all orders have been accurately completed.
• Maintain a driving and delivery log according to established policies and procedures.
• Prepare reports and documentation as required
• Comply with relevant State transportation and road regulations
• Comply with relevant safety standards
• Ensure the delivery vehicle is maintained in a clean and safe operating condition.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.

• HS diploma; preferred, but not required.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years driving experience
• Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized
• Previous restaurant/retail/hospitality experience, a plus
• Valid driver's license
• Clean driving record, ability, and willingness to drive a sprinter or a small box truck
• Flexible schedule.
• Able to work early mornings
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to take direction
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Must thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have a strong work ethic, trust, integrity, and accountability.
• Must be able to follow all safety, health, and sanitation procedures.

While performing the duties of this job, this position regularly required you to stand, sit and walk for long periods of time. Able to drive a motor vehicle. Ability to: regularly lift, carry, and/or move up to 40 pounds; frequently lift, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds; Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, grasping, pinching, smelling, reaching/lifting above shoulders in a repetitive manner; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Able to climb in and out of van multiple times per day. Able to walk up and down stairs as necessary to deliver items.
