Founded in 2013 in Raleigh, Gizmo Brew Works is a rapidly growing brewery which operates a taproom and production facility in Raleigh along with taprooms in Chapel Hill and Durham.

About the Job:
We are seeking a Taproom Manager for our Durham location. The Gizmo Brew Works Taproom Manager in Durham is charged with overseeing daily operations in the taproom, leading Front of House team members and ensuring all guests receive an unparalleled experience. The ideal candidate is committed to excellent service, is detail-oriented, can exercise judgement and work independently, and above all has very strong leadership skills and is ready to set the tone for the taproom staff. Work collaboratively with our Director of Marketing as well as taproom managers from other locations. Provide input as to which beers we brew to continually amaze guests with new offerings.

The Taproom Manager's time will be split between admin and tipped bartending shifts. Compensation will include a base salary, tipped hours, plus a performance bonus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Hire, train, evaluate, and supervise team members
• Setting the daily schedule for taproom employees at minimum of one week in advance and for at least one week out
• Lead a continuous education plan and training for FOH staff
• Create and enforce policies and SOPs
• Ensuring that the beers on tap are acceptable to serve (right temperature, optimal quality, no off-smells or flavors)
• Tirelessly making sure that taproom patrons’ needs are met quickly and efficiently
• Creating and maintaining a pleasant taproom environment (temperature, music, cleanliness, conduct)
• Maintaining accurate taproom inventory (glassware, crowlers, merch, etc.)
• Playing the role of brand ambassador
• Analyze taproom performance and implement measures to ensure continued growth
• Oversee key vendor partnerships, including partnerships with local restaurants providing food service to the Taproom
• Encourage ownership, accountability and maintain standards of service
• Partner with the Director of Marketing to plan and execute events in the taproom
• Forecast anticipated pull-through in the taproom, ordering beer as needed and communicating future needs to our production and sales teams
• Maintain taproom point-of-sale system, including back end updates and tablet upkeep
• Ensure tracking and reporting procedures are in place and being followed
• Complete bi-weekly payroll
• Participate on the Gizmo leadership team, and maintain a proactive and dynamic line of communication between FOH staff and leadership teams
• Assist as needed with special projects. This individual is expected to operate in a highly collaborative and constructive manner with all levels of the organization

REQUIREMENTS

• 21 years old or older
• Knowledge and passion for great beer and providing great service
• Excellent, leadership skills with the proven ability to lead and motivate a team
• Experience managing a front of house team required, brewing industry experience strongly preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills, thorough attention to detail and a relentless drive to take initiative
• Fervent work ethic and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to changing situations
• Available to work full-time (40 hrs / week), including nights and weekends
• Completed safe alcohol service training and Cicerone Certified Beer Server (or greater) a plus
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
