Reporting to a Sensory Manager, you will create impact through demonstrating your knowledge of statistical approaches and software applied to sensory projects. Based on project objective and sensory testing needs, you will recommend approaches and collaborate with cross-functional teams and sensory scientists to achieve results. This position is onsite and is located in Cincinnati, Ohio.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Pre-screen products, plan number of sessions needed, advise on product evaluation. Prepare computer designs for data collection and to execute studies. Maintain accurate records of all sensory testing. Create and enter information in sensory systems. Develop new protocols for evaluations to answer sensory testing objectives and contribute to development of new sensory methods and state-of the-art technologies. Prepare and maintain samples of reference materials for all panels and maintain flavor language library working together with Flavor Creation and Application teams.
  • Collaboration and Partnership: Collaborate with sensory team to coordinate schedules to improve the efficiency of sensory support. Work with applications teams to coordinate preparation of products for panel and validate products for sensory testing. Conduct standard statistical analysis, interpret results, write top-line reports and provide results to internal and external customers.
  • Project Execution/Panel Management: Collaborate with sensory team to propose and plan testing approaches and deliver consumer testing results.Maintain quality and motivation of panelists by monitoring performance and retrain. Moderate and provide appropriate training for groups of tasters to capture sensory information. Lead administration of internal and external panels.
You?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology or related area with experience in industry
  • 3 years functional/technical experience in industry
  • In-depth understanding of the foundations of sensory methodologies including descriptive, discriminative and quantitative testing
  • Ability to manage sensory projects
  • Desire to present data precisely in written and oral form to other teams and customers.
  • Possess ability/desire, to build and present body of work
  • Experience completing studies using sensory software
