GitKraken is Hiring a Remote Product Manager

The Company:

GitKraken makes a suite of legendary Git tools and services that help millions of developers be more productive – and teams collaborate more closely – wherever they are and wherever they code. We are on a mission to make Git easier, safer, and more powerful across multiple surfaces and environments. Our Git tools are designed to enable developers to streamline workflows and maximize collaboration. We are a profitable, sustainably growing tech company that values talent, drive, and the ability to make an impact. Join us in powering 25M global developers from 100K organizations!

The Role:

This is an awesome opportunity to join a strong, technical 10-person Product Management & Design team – and to be a part of a company that’s a rare blend of growth and profitability! Plus, where else are you going to make product decisions that are used by millions of developers the day after they launch?

We are looking for a technical Product Manager to drive the direction and execution of GitKraken’s IDE extensions, GitLens for VS Code (soon expanding into other popular IDEs). You will be responsible for defining the roadmap for our IDE products, delivering high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our customers, and leveraging usage telemetry and user feedback to inform product decisions. Bonus points if you have a real passion & expertise for creating intuitive, effective new user experiences (this is essential since our model is very low-touch PLG).

We are committed to having an inclusive and authentic work environment where unique perspectives, skills, and backgrounds are celebrated. We work hard to foster diversity in our workplace and encourage people from all backgrounds to apply. Even if you don't meet 100% of the requirements, don't let self-filtering and imposter syndrome get in the way of a great fit. We would love to hear from you!

What you'll do:

  • Work closely with our Chief Product Officer and our Chief Technology Officer to take end-to-end ownership of our IDE extension, GitLens
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and other stakeholders to prioritize features and offerings based on strategic objectives, technical feasibility, and user impact
  • Create inputs our engineering team uses to build feature functionality, including stories, specs, wireframes, and UX flows
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to drive product launches and feature releases
  • Analyze product usage metrics and interview customers to help inform product roadmap and priorities
  • Generate buy-in across engineering, marketing, finance, and customer success teams

What you’ll bring:

  • 5 years of experience in product management, with experience leading the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation to launch
  • Software development experience (perhaps a recovering developer yourself) with real exposure to the IDE tooling space and/or developer workflows
  • An entrepreneurial “growth hacker” mindset with the ability to solve problems creatively
  • Great attention to detail in truly understanding your products, your users, and their use cases
  • Powerful drive that fuels you to turn problems into opportunities, and good into great
  • The desire and ability to take true ownership of your product and its success
  • Excellent people and project management skills

How you’ll be rewarded:

💵 Excellence — Competitive compensation with annual performance-based pay increases

📩 Trust — Flexible Paid-Time-Off Policy (behaves like Unlimited PTO)

🛫 Travel — Company paid domestic trip after your 1-year anniversary & an international trip every 5 years

🏖 Balance — Paid company holidays with flexibility for additional holidays

💻  Equipment — Top-of-line technology to maximize your productivity

👶 Parent life — Generous paid parental leave

🍎 Health — Health, dental, and vision insurance with competitive employer cost-sharing

🏆 Culture — Great Place to Work Certified

🌵 Headquarters — Modern, high-tech offices designed to maximize productivity in a hybrid environment

📚  Growth — Paid career and personal development, audiobooks, and mentorship

🔮 Future —IRA retirement plan plus company matching

Location:

GitKraken is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona and while we would like to have candidates be local to the Scottsdale office, we understand that talent and drive are much more important than location. We will consider strong candidates from anywhere in the US who apply for this role.

Equal Employment Opportunity Statement:

At GitKraken, we believe that diversity among our teammates is critical to our success as a company. GitKraken evaluates all employees and job applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender (including pregnancy, gender expression, or gender identity), national origin, age, disability status, or any other legally protected class. We recruit, hire, and retain top talent from a diverse candidate pool.
