Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington is Hiring a Lead Teacher of Early Childhood Education Near Wilmington, NC

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 3 years in Early Childhood Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Birth through Kindergarten licensure or certification preferred
  • Ability to implement developed curriculum to teachers, in collaboration with our onsite, Curriculum Coach
  • Physical ability (able to exert up to 30 pounds of force) and dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job
  • Ability to fulfill all North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education (NCDCDEE) requirements to work in a licensed child care program

POSITION DETAILS

  • Reports To: Spark Academy Director
  • Position: Full-time | 12-months | Monday - Friday

SALARY

  • Annual Salary - $36,000 - $39,000

*Based on education and experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement STREAMin3 Curriculum along with activities that support the whole child
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all children
  • Be positive, approachable, and professional in interactions with parents/guardians, staff, students, and community members
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all student information
  • Communicate effectively with families about their child’s development
  • Respect families’ beliefs and values
  • Willingness to attend professional development opportunities
  • Be open and flexible to all other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Director and/or Assistant Director
  • Collaborate and work well with teachers, staff, and board members
  • Communicate with the Director ensuring all parties; students, caregivers/guardians, teachers have support where needed

  • Work collaboratively to create an environment that inspires young children to be curious and enhance their love of learning
  • Implement routines and activities that engage children and positively impact their overall development
  • Honor the individual skills, needs, and interests of each child to allow for successful growth

through hands-on and play-based learning

  • Model positive emotional skills that help children be confident while navigating through everyday social-emotional occurrences and experiences
  • Gracefully demonstrates flexibility and adaptability, seamlessly blending warmth and nurturing care even in the midst of bustling activity 
  • Believe all children have the potential to learn and thrive regardless of economic status
  • Believe they are part of a team willing to help each other when needs arise
