ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties is committed to empowering

and activities focused on our priority outcomes of Academic Success, Healthy

Lifestyles, and Good Character and Citizenship. Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and

Franklin Counties began in 1995 and now serves over 2200 club members each year

at multiple club locations. The Club is currently working with community partners to

establish additional club sites in underserved communities.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Director of Behavioral Health, the Behavioral Health

Program Specialist is responsible for providing direct program services, training and

support for staff, youth and families in need of mental and behavioral health

resources, skills and techniques. They will assist in cultivating a trauma informed

approach to youth development throughout the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.A. or B.S. in Social Work, Education, Psychology, or related field.
  • A minimum of three years’ work experience in behavioral health and/or with

youth.

  • Effectively work with community members, donors, parents, and young

people.

  • Ability to work successfully with limited direct supervision- self-motivate,

prioritize workload and manage time effectively.

  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to act in a

professional manner.

  • Enthusiasm for mission and motivation to learn new skills.

STARTING SALARY

RANGE

$46,503-$66,000

$.50/hr. additional pay

for bi-lingual staff

  • Demonstrated commitment to honoring the dignity of all with a focus on the

  • Bilingual, bi-literate in Spanish preferred.
  • Possess a current, valid driver’s license and have access to reliable

transportation.

  • Able to pass all criminal history background checks.
  • Must be able to lift and move objects as heavy as 40 lbs.

GENERAL JOB FUNCTIONS

O PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

  • Offer high-quality programs and services that support youth

mental health through a trauma informed, strength-based

approach.

  • Lead large group lessons that focus on emotional intelligence

and emotional regulation for elementary age youth.

  • Provide staff development, support and training

opportunities to enhance and expand a trauma informed

culture and approach, incorporating behavior supports, self-

regulation and coping skills.

  • Conduct program observations to assess methods of support

that can be used to set youth up for success in our programs.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of

programs, organizational initiatives, strategies, policies and

procedures in regards to social emotional health and

wellness.

O YOUTH & FAMILIES

  • In collaboration with the Director of Behavior Health,

maintain supportive, positive and effective relationships with

youth, families, coworkers and community partners.

  • Collaborate with Club management professionals for

incident response and referrals to services.

  • Increase youth social skills, self-regulation, coping strategies,

behavior supports, and address specific needs identified.

O PARTNERSHIPS & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Strengthen partnerships with mental health and social

service agencies to improve staff training and access to

service.

  • Attend professional development opportunities and gain

certifications that will enhance depth of knowledge and

skillsets.
