Under the direction of the Director of Mission Delivery, the Older Girl Program Specialist develops and delivers programs to our older Girl Scouts (Cadette - Ambassador).
  • Salary: $38,000 per year
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
    • Must be flexible to accommodate program schedules.
    • Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed.
    - First 3 months of the introductory period, you must work in the office M-F. After that period, may work a hybrid schedule as the department allows.
  • Other: Some mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the childhood education field
  • Bachelor’s degree in childhood education, or environmental field preferred.
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in Office 365, One Drive, Microsoft, Excel, etc.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, such as some evenings, weekends
  • Capable of handling sensitive information confidentially
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organization/multitasking skills; manage deadlines.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops programs that serve the present and future needs of current girl members (6-12).
  • Ensures that programs age and ability appropriate to all ages GSSC serves (6-12); Maintains a schedule of 2-3 programs per week
  • Stays knowledgeable of trends and issues affecting girls to develop programs relevant to those trends/issues.
  • Networks with outside organizations/companies to offer relevant programs for girls; Develops/maintains relationships with outside organizations.
  • Seeks grant opportunities/collaborates with outside vendors/organizations to successfully offer programs; Evaluates the success of programs and assists with quality modifications after evaluation.
  • Assists with inventory and supplies needed to complete programs; seeks approval of supply purchases from supervisor; Maintains set budget.
  • Collaborates with the Membership and Communications departments to assist with promoting upcoming programs, as well as managing the registration of programs.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure that all programs comply with local, state, and GSUSA guidelines.
  • Assures program participation is inclusive and offered in all GSSC's jurisdictions.
  • Supports the Program and Camping departments as needed.
    All other duties as assigned
