General Description :

Serves customers by helping them select products. Drives sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge.

Greets and receives customers in a welcoming manner. Responds to customers 'questions. Maintains accurate inventory control and sales records.

This is a full-time position and is located in the Temecula, CA office.

• Assist customers in the selection of merchandise; demonstrate and describe merchandise when needed. Explain correct usage of uniform and insignia.
• Operate P.O.S. system (computer or register) and process checks, bank drafts, and cash, following shop procedures. Open and close Girl Scout shop.

Prepare, reconcile, and deliver bank deposits to bank on a daily basis. Prepare and deliver cash sheets and deposit records to Director weekly.

• Ensure accuracy of daily sales and cash receipt records and maintain accurate, monthly sales summaries.
• Meet projected monthly and annual sales volume utilizing sound merchandising techniques.
• Maintain accurate inventory control and sales records.
• Submitting purchase orders to maintain inventory levels.
• Ordering inventory stock to maintain proper levels on hand.
• Maintain attractive displays of merchandise.
• Receive price, stock, and store incoming merchandise.
• Maintain good public relations with customers; refer suggestions to Director.
• Remain knowledgeable about the products offered, the Girl Scout Program and any current promotional events and sales.
• May be assigned occasionally for retail shop coverage at other retail locations.
• Work company special events, as assigned by the Director, where retail services are requested (occasionally during the evening and / or on the weekend.)
• Follow and maintain all cleaning protocols and schedules; safety guidelines and procedures for the retail shops.
• Demonstrate and promote a climate of courtesy and professionalism to coworkers, the volunteers serviced by this council, and others with whom their job put them in contact.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
• Adhere to all council policies, procedures and business ethics.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Education, Work Experience, Skill Requirements & Certifications :

Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required :

High School Diploma

Minimum Experience required :

Minimum 1-2 years of Experience in retail sales with excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette.

Skills Required :

• Basic level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and general data entry.
• General math skills - ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, and sales tax.

• Must have excellent organizational skills and be detail-oriented. Ability to handle several projects simultaneously, prioritize work and handle last minute demands appropriately.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal, written and grammar skills.
• Proven success with working in a team environment.
• High level of customer service skills are required to handle various member issues.
• Ability to listen and help resolve the customer's needs.
• Ability to resolve customer conflicts.

Minimum License, Certifications & Affiliations / Memberships and CEU's

• Valid California driver's license and an insured vehicle in good working order.
• Must successfully complete a criminal history background check
• Ability to operate council vehicles as needed.
