Position Title: Community Programs Facilitator (part-time)

POSITION SUMMARY 

Under the guidance of the Community Programs Manager, and in partnership with other facilitator(s) delivers prescribed programming for girls at community sites throughout the Rockford community Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scout message of pluralism and diversity to community groups, organizations, and other constituencies within the council’s jurisdiction. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Directly administers programming for girls at assigned site throughout the Rockford or Elgin community. Program material generally includes healthy relationships, health & wellness, and/or the arts
• Ensure girls, families, and/or site staff complete required paperwork. To include registration forms, outcomes surveys, reporting documents
• Accepts responsibility for transportation, storage, and inventory of program supplies and materials, as needed
• Facilitates the Girl Scout cookie programs with girls, including handling and transporting cases of cookies, and appropriately handling cash
• Participates in appropriate training, maintains relationships with site staff, and other scheduled events/meetings
• Submits as needed, reports both on demand and monthly in support of grant funding 
• Attends scheduled staff meetings or in-service trainings
• Other duties as assigned 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

High School degree or equivalent required. Program delivery experience preferred; or equivalent combinations of education and experience. 

SKILLS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS 

• Knowledge of Girl Scout program preferred
• The ability to demonstrate and articulate a genuine passion for the Girl Scout mission and vision
• Have the commitment and ability to interact with diverse populations
• Have the ability to handle sensitive information; and manage conflict resolution
• Proficient in MS Office products and working with databases 
• Ability to organize oneself, while being able to give and receive information by telephone and in person
• Have excellent customer relations skills
• Ability to work a minimum of 10 “flexible” hours per week during midday, afternoon, or early evening
• May be required to complete DCFS requirements (ex. Provide proof of health exam, fingerprinting, etc)
• Travel throughout the Rockford or Elgin community

SALARY

Salary: $13/hour – 8-10 hours weekly. Seasonal non-exempt
