Position Summary

The Annual Fund Manager plays an integral part of the development team by supporting and coordinating all aspects of the individual and annual giving initiatives, including administrative duties, events, and activities to support ongoing communication with donors. The manager is also responsible for the oversight of stewarding new individual donors and recommending assignments to the CEO, VP of Advancement, Board Members, and/or the Development Director.

Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Individual donor management for donors at less than $1,000 – creating campaigns, writing appeal letters, emails, and digital materials, managing monthly giving program, maintaining accurate donor records, developing, and executing stewardship touchpoints throughout the year, and managing alumni relations.
  • Identifies and works with print and fulfillment contractor to distribute year-end appeal and targeted appeal asks.
  • Draft and disseminate all annual fund stewardship including regular updates to IRS acknowledgement letters.
  • Oversight for stewarding new individual donors (handwritten note (where appropriate), assign follow-up calls to CEO, Director of Development, Board members, etc.
  • Utilize ResearchPoint wealth screening tool, to conduct prospect research.
  • Develop segments and mailing lists for personalized solicitation and donor stewardship using Raiser’s Edge NXT.
  • Support logistics and planning of in-person donor cultivation and stewardship events including liaising with venues, caterers, and vendors; communicating with guests, partnering with colleagues on implementation.
  • Assists with production of Annual Report.
  • Assists with department administrative duties.
  • Other administrative and operational duties as assigned related to development and fundraising projects.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the council, GSUSA staff, and colleagues from other councils.
  • Actively participate in all-staff meetings, staff in-service training, and other meetings.
  • When representing the council to both internal and external audiences, articulate GSRV’s desired image and position to all audiences.
  • Actively support the council’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, access, racial justice, and anti-racism. Conduct all activities with a high degree of cultural competency.
  • Contribute to building a cohesive, flexible, and productive staff environment that demonstrates the values and mission of Girl Scouts and delivers high-quality customer service.

Education and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience using a CRM. Experience using Raiser’s Edge NXT is a plus.
  • Demonstrated high-novice experience using Microsoft Office Package, especially Excel.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a fund development environment or related field, experience supporting annual giving campaigns a plus.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects, and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent technical computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excel knowledge including how to create tables, insert basic functions, perform basic analysis, and create reports.
  • Comfortable working on remote servers, navigating cloud environments, and navigating multiple data applications at the same time.
  • Ability to independently create measures to ensure data integrity and manage a multi-step workflow.
  • A self-starter who can work independently with minimal oversight and takes initiative; is flexible, adaptable, self-manager, organized, and has a strong attention to detail; thrives in an ever-changing/fast-paced environment.
  • Proven communication skills, including written, in person, and over the phone; demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of sensitive and confidential issues; and communicates effectively with a diverse group of girls, volunteers, and staff.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects while managing conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends as required by position responsibilities.
