Position Purpose
Activity Specialists serve in a specific program area to further the mission of the camp through the development and delivery of program areas at camp that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the camper’s age and abilities. They provide management to the physical operation of program facilities and equipment. Depending on specialty, additional training would be provided onsite. Camp Lakota is a Girl Scout resident camp that serves girls in grades 2-12. Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

GSGLA Camp Lakota
The Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles Camp Lakota is a state of the art, recently updated residential camp. Located just 90 miles from downtown Los Angeles, this premier camp site will host a full summer camp season. The camp will focus on providing a stand-out girl-led experience for campers of all ages and communities across our 6, 272 square mile footprint. The camp offers a variety of specialty activities including a high ropes challenge course, horseback riding, swimming, and archery.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Develop and deliver an activity program that is appropriate for the age and ability of the campers.
2. Ensure that camp staff and campers know and follow safety and educational procedures.
3. Assist in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment in activity area.
4. Be a role model to campers and staff in your attitude and behavior.
5. Participate as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, and other all-camp activities and camp functions.
6. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Minimum Education and Experience)
Specific Qualifications: (Based on Specialty)
Archery Specialist: Must have prior experience with recurve archery. USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certification or equivalent preferred (or willingness to obtain).
