At The Comedy Bar, We believe that sticking to the basics and doing them really, really well is the best path to success. This is exemplified in our name, our programming, and even the venue itself. Our goal is to offer great guest service, quality food/drinks, and the best comedy shows in town. People do not visit our venue just for the beautiful room or the comedians on stage, they come to us for an experience they won’t forget. Six years ago, we joined forces with our famous pizza partners, Gino’s East, and now offer the “ultimate Chicago experience” where guests can watch awesome shows (ps: we have two stages), eat delicious food, and drink.

Right now, we’re looking for a dynamic and organized Box Office Manager to join our team. As the Box Office Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our ticketing and guest services. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about comedy and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

You will be responsible for :

• Serve as a lively brand ambassador for The Comedy Bar within Chicago and the comedy scene.
• Ensure seamless nightly operations, including talent liaison, coordination with service staff, and AV production for high-quality shows.
• Manage box office operations, from guest check-ins to comedian payroll, while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
• Oversee weekly promotional tasks, including event listings, marketing materials creation, email newsletters, and SEO optimization.
• Collaborate with corporate booking and marketing teams to maximize profitability and promotion effectiveness.

What you need:

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Availability on nights and weekends.
• 2 years of customer service and marketing administrative experience.
• Graphic Design/Animation skills are a significant advantage.
• Previous experience in a live show environment is preferred.
• A great sense of humor is a must!
• Familiar with Eventbrite or other ticketing software
• Flexible availability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Great work ethic, good listening skills and follows instructions
• Self-motivated, pro-active, and team-oriented.
• MUST be able to work well under pressure and be able to multi-task.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A few years of experience in a fun, fast paced environment would be beneficial
