Description

A successful District Manager has a strong commitment to optimizing customer experience while providing leadership for store operations. This role requires outstanding team development and proven success turning employee commitment into positive customer outcomes and profitability. They must be able to relate to and effectively communicate at all levels. Must be comfortable managing multiple priorities while ensuring timeliness and organization. Able to hold confidences and remain professional and engaging. This role works closely with store managers to gain insight to the overall business operations, ensure accuracy of information, improve business processes and assist in making decisions that align with the company’s strategic plan.

As a multi-unit manager responsible for overseeing a market, it is critical to have a firm grasp of the skills and functions required to successfully manage at the store level. Beyond that, this role requires an ability to lead and mentor others toward achieving their specific goals.

  • Must be able and willing to travel throughout market to store locations
  • Proven experience managing retail operations and a willingness to assist in that capacity as required
  • Understanding of performance metrics including P&L, sales, budgeting, inventory, payroll, cost controls, and facilities maintenance 
  • Conduct store inventory counts on scheduled and unscheduled basis
  • Mentor and train managers in all facets of management and operations
  • Participate in leadership meetings and disseminate information into actionable plans for team
  • Meet regularly with the department leads and Store Managers to review performance, assess status of daily processes and coach team members as appropriate.
  • Act as a point of escalation for any service concerns promptly with an eye toward process improvement

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license to be able to drive company or customer vehicles for company or customer-related uses. 
  • A bachelor's degree in business management, automotive technology, or a related field is preferred. Extensive industry experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
  • 4 years of experience in the tire and/or auto service industry is required, with a track record of successful management and leadership roles. Experience as a store manager, service manager, or a similar position within the industry is valuable.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills to lead multiple store managers and their teams. This includes the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop employees.
  • Understanding of business operations, financial management, budgeting, and performance metrics is crucial. Ability to analyze data to make informed decisions that drive business growth and profitability.
  • High-quality customer service is critical in the tire and auto industry. A District Manager must ensure that all stores under their supervision are providing excellent service and meeting customer needs.
  • Familiarity with the operational aspects of running a tire and auto service center, including inventory management, equipment maintenance, safety protocols, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with employees, customers, vendors, and executive management.
  • The ability to quickly identify problems, develop solutions, and implement changes is important for maintaining operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
