Gillingham Charter School is seeking a Reading Specialist .

General job description:

Reading specialist - support services for students who are struggling in reading in grades 1-6 predominantly, and in 7-11 in particular cases. Provide pull-out and push-in services for struggling reading students . Co-teach in grades with greatest needs.

Reading intervention teacher and coordinator - researching and implementing comprehension, reading and writing interventions for students in grades 1-12 to mitigate gaps in learning and enhance interaction with ideas. Partner with grade level teachers and paras to provide services.

This position will also experience shared leadership among administration and faculty and there is plenty of room for growth and collaboration!

Minimum Requirements:

• PA Teaching Certification Required
• Child Abuse, State Police, and FBI Fingerprint Clearances (Current within the last year)
• Excellent classroom management skills
• A willingness and enthusiasm to learn new methodologies
• A love of the outdoors
• Experience coordinating academically-oriented clubs and extracurricular activities
• Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude in a dynamic team environment
