Gillette Children's is Hiring a Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst Near Saint Paul, MN

The Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst position will support the business areas within Gillette Children’s Revenue Cycle department by providing application and system support as well as leading projects. The analyst will collaborate with Revenue Cycle Leadership to identify opportunities for workflow improvement to reduce AR days, improve cash flow, and maximize revenue cycle performance. The analyst will both participate and lead Revenue Cycle related implementations of new technology and integration as well as provide technical support and expertise for the EMR.

Work Hours: Monday to Friday between 6:00am to 5:00pm. On-call rotation and occasional weekend due to scheduled upgrades or unscheduled system implementation or outages. Also, this is a remote opportunity; however, the selected candidate must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin and have the ability to work onsite in St. Paul, MN as needed for the position. Relocation to the area is expected for out-of-state candidates. 

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this opportunity is $88,462/annually to $132,704/annually, with a median salary of $110,583/annually. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience and internal equity. Salary is just one component of the compensation package for employees. Primary Job Responsibilities 

  • Technology Support
    • Provide technical support and knowledge of EHR system structure and third-party applications and technology associated with revenue cycle.
    • Collaborate in knowledge sharing for system design, configuration and functionality.
    • Assess all Revenue Cycle requests and integrate with operations, practice areas and cross-functional teams to ensure work is aligned and to focus efforts appropriately.
    • Document system processes, workflows, and procedures.
    • Participate and develop comprehensive testing plans and upgrades.
    • Assure that application designs are consistent with industry best practices including scalability, availability, maintainability, and flexibility.
  • Process Improvement and Project Management
    • Actively engages with leadership through identification, solutions and execution of changes in the workflow and policy to improve department work
    • Advocate and support exploratory work to initiate and foster creativity for impactful solutions.
    • Enable the teams and operations to advance with solution-based thinking and problem-solving techniques.
    • Prepare, deliver, and plan project communication, documentation, timelines, risk management and dependencies.
    • Assist with budget planning, prioritization of revenue cycle project portfolio, system development, and problem solving.
    • Understand the project lifecycle and provide expert knowledge of system development methodologies and documentation. Documentation includes project request forms, project plans, status reports, process flow diagrams, functional requirement specs, technical design documents, test plans and others as needed
    • Design and oversee development of application interfaces as per business requirements software using vendor provided or non-vendor provided, tools such as reports, screen design, and interface definitions.
  • Vendor Management
    • Manage client, customer, and vendor relationship at the representative level
    • Engage with external Revenue Cycle vendors
    • Implementation lead for new revenue cycle technologies
  • Reporting
    • Work with Revenue Cycle leadership to set revenue cycle standards, performance indicators, and develop performance goals. Assists Revenue Cycle leadership in obtaining and reporting on metrics defined.
    • Ongoing monitoring of all Revenue Cycle metrics
    • Key resource for Revenue Cycle reporting requests

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Information Systems, Business or Finance or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the healthcare revenue cycle such as Patient Accounting, Patient Access, Charge Capture, Patient Financial Services at both the functional and technical level

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience and knowledge with healthcare information technology: application support, development & lifecycle.
  • Simple claim rules and the ability to setup testing scenarios and HCPCS
  • Basic knowledge of the scrubber like Assurance
  • Ability to analyze, organize and solution-based thinking.
  • Experience collaborating with healthcare business units and developing solutions and processes.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, decision-making, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated a high degree of initiative, dedication, and innovation.
  • Ability to articulate and provide context in all forms of communication and discussions.
  • Ability to work effectively on an autonomous or team basis.
  • Ability to adapt and adjust to demands of work, changes and team dynamics.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools MS Word, Excel, Project and Visio.

Preferred

  • Cerner Millenium experience and knowledge with Cerner Profi Claim Manager Tool, CCL automation, and business rule
  • Knowledge of ASP.NET, XML or Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) formats
  • Experience with solution-based thinking and relating to business specific needs
  • Project management experience
