Role and Responsibilities

This job position is part of the Estimating team and its duties include but not limited to the following:

· Proficient in Trimble or other estimating software, must be able to maintain database and build assemblies based on Specifications to be utilized in each Industry

· Work with estimating assistant at the beginning of the project to outline all pertinent information critical to fulfilling the Bid and avoiding vagueness. Setting up bidders list and Bid form to achieve maximum understanding for the clients

· Read and interpret specifications for an accurate material take off including attic stock

· Perform quantity take-off and pricing of mechanical, plumbing and process piping estimates

· Develop/document logical assumptions during conceptual estimating activities, applying these assumptions to takeoff tasks

· Solicit subcontractors during the bidding process

· Communicate with project leads to clarify scope of work, materials and schedule requirements

· Participate in internal estimate review process and assist with final assembly of estimate for presentation

· Collect/organize all bid information for input into historical cost database platform

· Conduct reviews of milestone documents to identify changes in work scope and develop pricing of value alternative opportunities

· Assist field operations with change order pricing

· Maintain current, working knowledge of MEP codes

· Prepare scopes of work for subcontracts and suppliers and coordinate mechanical scopes of work with architectural/structural/electrical scope

· Prepare budget comparisons between current/previous estimates

· Utilize current technology to enhance provided services on hard bid and negotiated projects

· Develop/maintain relationships with internal/external clients and subcontractors/vendors, occasionally attending industry events to represent Gillette

· Plumbing Estimating experience, a plus
