Gillespie Precast is a family owned precast concrete manufacturing company looking for a qualified person to join our team in Chestertown, MD. The Quality Control Technician is a hands-on position responsible for assuring the accuracy and quality of our concrete products. Knowledge of concrete and/or quality control experience is preferred but not required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect and document forms ready for concrete pours.
• Inspect and document end products to ensure they are ready for delivery.
• Improve quality (accuracy, appearance, efficiency, cost, etc.) of end products.
• Perform and document all concrete and material testing.
• Understand and evaluate concrete mix designs and concrete batching procedures and how to modify and troubleshoot.
• Responsible for all mix designs; performance and cost.
• Perform and document periodic checks on all forms regarding tolerances and maintenance.
• Track, evaluate, document, and inspect all necessary concrete repairs. Report causes of defect and provide advice to personnel responsible for producing defective product.
• Implement and update Quality Control Manual policies and procedures periodically.
• Must be able to travel to and from work daily, as well as between facilities and jobsites when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience in the construction or concrete industry.

· Experience in Quality Control.

Special Requirements:

- Willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required by manager.

- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening within 5 calendar days.

Physical Requirements:

· Stand for full 8-hour shift.

· Able to climb in and around concrete structures.

· Ability to lift 50 lbs. several times a day.
