Gilchrist Global Strategies is Hiring a Document Management Analyst I - DOJ - DC Near Washington, DC

Description:

Gilchrist Global Strategies has a great job opportunity as a Document Management Analyst I in Mandarin or Portuguese, supporting the work performed for the DOJ Criminal Division, Fraud Section. The prosecuting unit within the DOJ tasked with investigating and prosecuting FCPA violations. As a result, although the Fraud Section works with U.S. Attorneys’ Offices around the country, all of the FCPA cases run through it along with all of the documents collected with those investigations. The investigations are complex and often result in the collection of millions of pages of documents per case, a large volume of which are in one or more foreign languages.

Duties:

  • Under the direction of Project Supervisor or Document Management Analyst II, performs the following tasks while complying with established procedures for:

o filing, retrieving, and copying case file materials,

o creating witness binders; preparing deposition and trial exhibits,

o entering data on-line to case files and other databases,

o proofreading, editing, correcting OCR'd text files,

o retrieving and blowing back documents and digital image media,

o tabbing, numbering, labeling, assembling documents,

o filling out log sheets and reporting on task progress,

o and performing quality control on the work of peers in all of these areas.

  • Prepares documents for image scanning; performs other document collection related activities, including document screening, and labeling of files to be scanned.
  • Utilizes electronic and evidence management and discovery production processes and tools, such as Relativity, Casemap and Sanction, to support investigations.
  • Performs detailed indexing of case documents; drafting procedures for accomplishing litigation support assignments; and conducting database searches.
  • Searches the Relativity database per criteria developed by case team management.
  • Reviews search result sets for relevance based on written criteria.
  • Codes relevant documents per existing protocol.
  • Summarizes depositions and other transcripts; maintains case files; and tracks and controls document discovery (including documents produced and received in discovery).
  • Must be bilingual or multilingual (Portuguese required; additional languages such as Spanish or Chinese helpful).
Requirements:
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
  • One year of experience on major litigation support projects or undergraduate degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a team environment.
  • Must have excellent writing skills and oral communication capabilities.
  • Requires hands-on familiarity with the Government's office and network environment, including but not limited to, data processing environments, including office automation networks, PC-based databases and other applications, internet and server-based databases and other applications, such as Oracle, Relativity or other document review platform, Trial Director, etc.
  • Should be a knowledgeable user of the Government's office and network environment, including but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheet, imaging, and hardware systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
  • Certain assignments may require experience or substantial undergraduate coursework in, for example, finance/accounting, health care, or substantial experience in the legal environment or in information technology.
