Machine Operator III- First Shift

Job Summary: The Inspection Operator is a skilled position and requires in-depth knowledge of processes and equipment throughout the work area assigned. The Inspection Operator can perform set up and operation of all equipment in their assigned area. The Inspection Set-Up Lead is responsible for the set-up and creation of vision files utilized by the machine for in line quality checks. The Inspection Operator will assist the Manager, Supervisor and Shift Lead as needed with setting up the production run and will be qualified to move between machines and processes as needed to operate efficiently on their assigned shift. Job Duties:
  • Verifies set up of card body parameters at the beginning of shift and make adjustments according to job specifications to ensure proper working order
  • Create new and/or modify current existing vision files required to process the product assigned. Serve as main contact for creating vision files of the machine.
  • Monitor machine during every procedure to ensure optimum performance
  • Troubleshoot problems during machine operation and resolve process issues, partner with Shift Lead as needed. Ensure correct parameters are used.
  • Provide relevant information regarding progress to supervisors
  • Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates
  • Is responsible to run the machine on their assigned shift
  • Make ticket transactions for production and completes all paperwork
Accountabilities:
  • Reports to the shift Supervisor and receives direction from the Supervisor and Shift Lead
  • Assists in machine set up according to job specifications to ensure quality production run
  • Conduct periodic quality tests to ensure quality of production runs
  • Responsible for quality of finished work on the shift
  • Accountable for meeting the daily throughput of the machine
  • Responsible for ensuring that correct vision files are being utilized during production
  • Responsible for creation and/or modification of vision files utilized by Muhlbauer Inspection machine.
  • Works to achieve attainment of departmental goals
  • Follows established safety and environmental compliance
  • General daily maintenance and performance of the machine
Job Specifications:
  • Exposure to shop noise
  • Required to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to operate mechanical machinery
  • Physically able to bend, lift, and stand over long periods of time
  • Flexibility on schedule (must be able to work overtime and on weekends on an as needed basis)
  • Ability to look at work being produced in high speed environment for extended periods of time
  • Adheres to MasterCard and Visa association security standards
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in similar manufacturing role
  • High level of proficiency on a Muhlbauer Inspection machine
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good attendance habits
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, technical trade school training is preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of quality processes and procedures
  • Basic computer skills
  • Understanding the influences of the vision system. (Pixels, lighting, masking and filters - ensuring that the correct vision file is created)
  • Safety conscious with a good understanding of general safety requirements
