Position: Auto Parts Sales Associate

Gibson Iron & Metal is a well-established salvage yard that specializes in buying scrap metal and selling used car parts. We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Counter Associate.

This full-time position offers a competitive compensation package, including 401k and health insurance benefits.

Position Overview:

As an Auto Parts Sales Associate, you will play a pivotal role in our business, working in our parts department.

Parts Counter Responsibilities:

• Customer Assistance: Assist customers in finding the used car parts they need. Offer guidance and recommendations when necessary.
• Order Processing: Efficiently handle customer transactions using our cash register system, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Inventory Management: Keep track of inventory, restock shelves, and maintain a well-organized parts counter area.
• Parts Search: Search the yard for requested parts using company vehicle. Take detailed notes on availability and condition.
• Cleaning & Maintenance: Clean and maintain a cleanly office environment. Including but not limited to sweeping, moping, dusting, disinfecting, etc.

Qualifications:

· Excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Basic math skills for weighing and calculating payments.

· Ability to operate a cash register.

· Attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Experience in the automotive or scrap metal industry is a plus but not required.

Schedule

4 days during the week, Saturday's, CLOSED SUNDAY.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
