Gibson Abrasive Equipment is Hiring a Brake Press Operator Near Fishers, IN
- Selects proper dies for the part material and size of bend.
- Sets brake press stroke per material thickness and bend.
- Sets backstop to correct dims per print.
- Positions work piece onto brake press by hand, per print. May need second person for larger items.
- Remove parts from brake press and inspect per print.
- High school education or equivalent is required; trade school with mechanical training is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing/fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Must be able to operate power hand tools such as pneumatic grinders.
- Understanding of basic measuring devices.
- Good understanding of basic machine operations and safety awareness.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all personnel.
- Previous experience working on Brake Press systems is desired.
- Experience operating a fork truck and overhead cranes is beneficial.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Capable of standing for long periods of time and be able to bend, stoop, kneel and occasionally climb ladders.
- Ability to use both hands to lift and position metal sheets and plates.
- Ability to wear PPE including safety glasses, hand, foot and hearing protection for extended time periods.
