Gibbs Wire and Steel is Hiring a 1st Shift Helper Near Southington, CT
We are looking for an experienced, detail oriented, and energetic Metalworking Helper.
The Helper position will support the slitter oscillators by making sure they have the
correct material needed to run the job.
Load and unload machines.
Keep the machines running while operators are on break.
Finalize and report orders.
Must be very attentive and pay close attention to the machine to ensure downtime is
minimized.
Must be a team player and meet production output and quality goals.
Working knowledge of metalworking equipment is preferred.
Safety
Gibbs Metals promotes a safety first culture. Employees are required to practice safe work habits and follow safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
Steel toe shoes, protective gloves, sleeves and safety glasses are required.
May be forklift certified.
Practices good housekeeping including a clutter-free work area and general cleaning.
Ensures lock-out tag-out procedures are followed any time the equipment is being cleaned or maintained.
