Want to use your accounting skills for good? We are seeking a personable, detail-oriented Accounting Associate who wants to contribute to Ghost Ranch’s mission: to steward a place of great beauty and nurture the human spirit and mind.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Mail Management: check emails daily, respond appropriately; review physical mail daily, and scan statements and non-invoice communications; review vendor communications; bring items to Accounting Manager’s attention, as needed.
• Accounts Payable: code and enter invoices into NetSuite; properly retain documents; scan credit card receipts and code them for NetSuite; run checks and ACH payments each week; get checks signed and mail them.
• Cash and Banking: create deposit slips and deposit checks; update check tracker in Google Docs; deliver copies to Development Department; make bank runs, as needed; reconcile cash as needed; count physical cash in drawers, each week; keep Headquarters stocked with change.
• Interface with Ghost Ranch Staff: be the face of the Finance team with our employees; receive reimbursement requests; make change for employees who work the registers; answer questions and route communication to the appropriate member of the Finance team; assist members of the Leadership Team with financial tasks, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The Accounting Associate works independently using established procedures, prioritizes tasks appropriately, is self-motivated and proactive, and meets deadlines. Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and efficient.
• High school diploma or higher; an Associate's degree in business administration is preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to listen well, solve problems, and be flexible
• Strong computer skills, especially in NetSuite, and the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly
• Outstanding attitude with the ability to be a positive role model and team player
• Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment and willing to be flexible

DETAILS:

This is generally a Monday-Friday position on location at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, NM. It is a non-exempt (hourly) position starting at $21/hour, depending on experience. Part-time minimum of 24 hours/week or full-time. Ghost Ranch offers competitive pay and benefits, including lunch in the Dining Hall during working hours.
