Working as part of a team of skilled information technology, planning, and engineering professionals. The GIS Analyst is responsible for data acquisition, maintenance and integration, spatial analysis and cartography. The role supports both Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and CAD activities of the region’s transportation, traffic, land use, utilities and other geospatial needs. This position requires independent work skills and the ability to communicate and collaborate with GHA staff and clients, as well as outside agencies.
You will utilize the company values in all phases of your work. You shall demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, be a self-starter and be able to carry out assignments with limited oversight. Valid driver’s license or Government Issued ID as local travel may be required.
How you will make an impact:
o Responsible for data acquisition, cleaning, and maintenance.
o Verifies and maintains accuracy of data.
o Updates databases using Esri software.
Data Analysis and Cartography
o Performs complex analysis projects using GIS software tools and data.
o Strong knowledge of technical cartography skills, practices, and methods applicable to a Municipal setting.
Field Data Collection
o Conducts and coordinates field asset inventories using various Global Positioning System (GPS) units, and various analytical tasks.
o Integrates collected data back into GIS databases.
Teamwork and Collaboration
o Responsible for ensuring your tasks, project schedules and budgets are met.
o Assists other staff in the performance of their duties, as assigned.
