Buyer - Gestamp Chattanooga, TN - Chassis III
- Prepare RFQ packages and utilizes sourcing systems to conduct online bids for current spend of products and services to secure competitive market prices.
- Executes service agreements, contracts, purchase agreements, letter contracts, and purchase orders with suppliers.
- Study market prices and trends, engineering developments and manufacturing method improvement applicable to assigned responsibilities.
- Secure and analyze quotations; negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, and recommends suppliers according to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assign responsibilities.
- Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics inventory control and management, and negotiates prices and delivery terms.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field or 3 years experience in Purchasing/Manufacturing or Maintenance environment.
- Ability to identify, implement, monitor, and report the key initiatives and the generated savings as listed in the productivity roadmap every month.
- Sourcing experience in equipment RFQ development, service contracts and contract management.
- System experience with SAP, Excel, Sourcing systems and approval workflows.
- Strong negotiation, planning, and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to support and drive projects to successful completion.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work well under tight deadlines.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office.
