Responsibilities:

• Perform design and analysis for a variety of projects including residential, commercial, and higher education.
• Prepare construction documents, specifications, and other engineering documents and reports.
• Perform site visits to collect forensics and as-built data and conduct construction administration observation duties.
• Coordinate, supervise, and review work performed on delegated tasks to interns and designers.
• Conduct internal QA/QC reviews of work completed by peers.
• Collaborate in a team setting with department members and other design disciplines such as geotechnical, civil, construction material testing and external sub-consultants and clients, as necessary, for project coordination.
• Provide regular project updates and a forecast of obstacles to a supervising project manager.
• Manage time effectively and efficiently with minimal oversight.
• Complete engineering projects and maintain accountability for project success.
• This position is focused on production of projects. 

Education/ Experience:

• Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with Structural focus.
• 3-5 years of engineering experience
• Experience in the use of various structural design codes and specifications including but not limited to IBC, IRC, ASCE 7, ACI, PCI, AISC, NDS, and TMS
• Experience in design and detailing of various construction materials, including steel, cold formed metal framing, conventional and post-tensioned concrete, concrete masonry, and conventional and engineered wood
• Experience in the design and analysis of building structures
• Experience in the development of comprehensive construction documents

Skills and special requirements/licensing:

• Registered E.I.T. or P.E. in the state of Texas or the ability to become registered
• Bluebeam, Autodesk REVIT, RISA, or RAM Structural System experience is a plus.
