Role Summary:

The IT Systems Analyst II provides support and training to credit union staff in the use of office automation products, personal computers, on-line application systems, user-based peripherals, etc. The position will also support end user tools that support the exchange of information and collaboration between users and departments. They will ensure all systems are functioning properly, secure, maintained, and support the mission and goals of the credit union. The IT Systems Analyst II will function as an escalation point to analyze and resolve higher level end user hardware and software computer incidents in a timely and accurate fashion. Utilizing specialized technical knowledge, the incumbent will support the system and network requirements and IT needs of the various departments and branches of the credit union. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, installation of service packs, patches, updates and or upgrades; working with vendors, departments or end users in configuring the software to meet the various requirements.

 

What You Will Be Doing:

  1. System Administration – Ensure all aspects of administration and support of Windows Active Directory Microsoft user tools (Exchange, SharePoint, etc) are completed, including data integrity; archiving and retrieval of application and system data is managed effectively and efficiently with the highest level of reliability and integrity. Provide timely and efficient support of Microsoft and non-Microsoft applications to users across all business lines. Notify users of new useful features available through product updates.
  2. Security – Ensure the security of the Gesa Credit Union network and desktop computing environments. Anticipate system and network security/integrity risks and ensure adequate safeguards are put in place. Manage security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, intrusion detection and security patching systems. Perform server and security audits as well as system backup and recovery
  3. Hardware Support – Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of PCs, printers, peripherals and other miscellaneous hardware. Coordinate with vendors as necessary to obtain next level support. Ensure all aspects of the administration and support of the Windows servers (domain and member servers) hardware are completed. Mitigate issues in a timely manner, reporting all instances to management. Setup and maintain hardware images for timely installation of client systems
  4. Telephone Administration – Work with Gesa Telecom engineer to Set up, manage, maintain, support, test and upgrade primary voice and communications equipment and systems. Successfully interface with staff and vendors to ensure equipment and systems meet credit union needs. Analyze communication systems related problems; determine proper course of action; resolve problems or revert to vendor/agency.
  5. Evaluate user’s requirements to ensure all required hardware and software is available to users in a timely and efficient manner.
  6. Perform duties in areas of responsibility in a safe and sound manner, control risk, inform IT management regarding status changes, concerns, potential improvements, etc., relating to assigned responsibilities. Escalate and/or inform Credit Union management staff of issues pertaining to impaired performance or outages that effect delivery of services to members and/or employees.
  7. Install end-user hardware and software; ensuring that end user requirements are satisfied, end users are aware of their responsibilities and familiar with the process of reporting issues to the Helpdesk.
  8. Responsible for problem resolution associated with areas of responsibility as well as issues reported through the help desk. Utilizes available resources to fullest extent prior to escalation of issue to supervisors or managers. Coordinate with other IT staff to resolve hardware, software and network problems, escalating where necessary.
  9. Maintain inventory of hardware and software. Ensure administrative control over the end-user hardware and software assets of the credit union, as well as related supplies and accessories, through maintenance of inventories, files, logs, etc.
  10. Ensure internal service standards, computing standards, internal controls, security initiatives, and disaster recovery plans are implemented and followed as necessary.
  11. Ensure upgrades, updates, and patches are planned, tested, and completed, maintaining compliance with vendor requirements, standards, and control procedures.
  12. Occasional work outside of normal business hours may be required to perform system maintenance.
  13. Develop and maintain documented operating procedures and other technical documentation, providing a review of the documentation when changes are made.
  14. Maintain knowledge of current and evolving technology.
  15. Maintain appropriate communications within IT and other departments advising of any changes in status of tasks or projects and/or potential delays that may have a business impact. Actively participate in developing procedures, process improvements, developing solutions, and participating in programs consistent with credit union goals and objectives.
  16. Participates in the testing of a comprehensive Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Planning program.
  17. Participate in IT cross-training opportunities to ensure there is no “single point of failure” in respect to functional coverage of responsibilities.
  18. Ensure professional behavior is displayed and requests are satisfactorily resolved within the required time frame. Provide a friendly, professional, timely, and accurate service to all employees. Consistently display respect for all areas of diversity and levels of knowledge.

 

About You:

  1. Exceptional knowledge of the functionality, maintenance, and troubleshooting methodology related to computer hardware, Microsoft applications, and other software applications.
  2. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft O365, networking, TCP/IP, DHCP, WINS, DNS, VMWare, Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange and SharePoint is strongly desired.
  3. Experience with network security and firewall hardware and software desired.
  4. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows O/S’s, networking, TCP/IP, DHCP, WINS, DNS, VMWare, and Microsoft Active Directory, including group policies and Exchange strongly desired.
  5. Strong knowledge of networking, routers, switches, and associated protocols desired.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Strong knowledge of troubleshooting skills, techniques, and tools.
  8. Strong knowledge of IT technologies, processes, and procedures.
  9. Strong experience with network security and firewall hardware and software desired.
  10. Solid knowledge of the Financial Industry is desirable.
  11. Strong organizational skills and the ability to participate in projects.
  12. Strong organizational skills and the ability to build/set schedules and adhere to project deadlines.
  13. Strong listening skills and customer service attributes, and a good telephone manner. Must consistently display and maintain courtesy, tact, and diplomacy with current and potential members, peers, and staff.
  14. Excellent technical planning, project management and supervisory experience desired.

Qualifications


What You Will Need:

  1. A two-year college degree in an Information Technology discipline or equivalent completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, experience in a related field or equivalent of specialized courses, training, and/or directly related experience may be substituted.
  2. A minimum of three years of similar or related functional and technical experience.
  3. Thorough knowledge and understanding of credit union services and products preferred.
  4. Expertise with the functionality of the Microsoft Windows 10 and Office 365. Highly knowledgeable of computing hardware, software, and standard office equipment.
  5. Ability to solve problems and exercise sound judgment when performing duties and working with members.
  6. Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to changes in technology, evolving and new technologies.
  7. Ability to organize, prioritize and respond simultaneously to multiple tasks and requests.
  8. Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information, both orally and in writing.
  9. Ability to analyze and report information and recommend achievable process improvements.
  10. Ability to discuss technical issues effectively with other data processing professionals as well as non-technical users.
  11. Ability to promote and participate in a cohesive team environment.
  12. Ability to initiate and coordinate work, establishes relationships, and negotiates with vendors for work or projects to be completed.
