GES is Hiring a Mining Product Specialist Near Duluth, MN

OVERVIEW:

The Mining Product Specialist will be responsible for improving the business success of our mining & quarry customers through face-to-face contact and knowledge of their operation and needs. The primary objective of the Mining Product Specialist is to build relationships and establish a true partnership that will make our customers more successful by anticipating and/or recognizing their needs and supplying parts, equipment and setting up service for their equipment. This position will be based out of Duluth, MN.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the coverage, retention, development, and customer satisfaction at each mine site throughout Northern MN and affiliated mines which may be located elsewhere in the country.
  • Responsible for selling assigned whole goods, parts, and service within the mines.
  • Utilize CRM program to track customer visits, prepare quotes, and organize time.
  • Work with the PSSR Manager and Regional Sales Manager to develop business relationships with mining customers and promote GES.
  • Collaborate with sales, parts, and service teams to develop accurate demand forecasts.
  • Work with parts and service department to keep customers up and running efficiently.
  • Regularly monitor and update inventory levels to ensure accuracy on all stocking parts.
  • Perform the necessary functions required for machine or equipment service and/or parts quotes.
  • e. undercarriage evaluations, G.E.T evaluations, fit ups, record keeping, and recommendations.
  • Identify key contacts within mines to promote GES growth.
  • Follow up on all leads, contract lettings and inquiries; and follow through on all potential sales deals.
  • Maintain required communications; advise superiors of all changes within the mines which can affect company success.
  • Utilize telematics systems to manage the customer fleet and provide information to mine sites and GES employees to coordinate servicing and repairs.
  • Regularly attend educational and training programs covering company policies, department objectives, product services and programs, and professional salesmanship and personal growth
  • Keep informed on new contracts and opportunities; settle complaints, establish, and maintain personal relations with customers; assist at exhibits, demonstrations, and meetings.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Ability to balance the business needs and goals of the company while looking out for the best interests of each mine site.
  • Controls travel and entertainment expenses and responsible for keeping accurate expense records and submitting them in a timely manner.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • A background in construction, aggregate and/or heavy construction equipment is recommended but not required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales, service, heavy construction or product support.
  • An above average computer comfort level and willingness to learn Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, CRM program and GES business software.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain an insurable driving record.
  • Must have a positive mental attitude.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills, both internal and external customers
  • Be personable, highly motivated, reliable, ethical, and able to adapt to all forces around them, customers, suppliers, coworkers, and manufacturers.
  • Attain short and long-term objectives through good time management and planning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills with ability to effectively manage multiple projects.
  • Training to develop an expertise in all areas of GES products offered.
