Job Description

We are looking for experienced and customer focused individuals with strong communication skills and attention to detail. The primary purpose for the Merchandiser is to enhance sales and profits by ensuring designated stores are stocked with the right products in the right quantities. They will be responsible for the inventory management for both HBC & Specialty Food products. Other responsibilities will include; product ordering, arranging and maintaining product displays, work and communicate with buyers, suppliers, and distributors, and monitor/report store inventory based on sales and intake. Store Merchandiser must have at least 2-3 of HBC/GM or Specialty Foods Merchandising experience and flexible availability. Travel will be required for this position so a valid driver’s license will also be required.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining proper presentation and display of HBC & Specialty Food products;
• Orders for all health and beauty and general merchandise departments in assigned accounts and sales territory;
• Responsible for maintaining HBC/Specialty Food sales area, shelves, floors and back room area and ensure they are neat and sanitary;
• Responsible for being informed of price changes along with informing the Scan Department of pricing inaccuracies;
• Responsible for verifying products and their correct shelf label and/or sign while maintaining proper product alignment;
• Notifies HBC/GM Manager of deviations from normal sales and service schedule;
• Insures that required documentation such as credit authorizations and merchandise transfers are completed and signed;
• Maintains positive working relationships within the Stores.
• Responsible for merchandising new items and for eliminating discontinued items;
• Work and communicate with HBC/GM Manager, Company Vendors, and Buyers;
• Monitor department inventory based on sales and intake;
• Answers questions, responding to special requests, and describes product features to the customer when needed;
• Gather and report information on customers' reactions to store products;
• Re-set HBC/GM sections as required for seasonal or other purposes
• Responsible for maintaining daily conditions in regard to the HBC/Specialty sales area and back room stock areas;
• Implement new HBC/ Specialty products and promotions into the store Developed by the HBC/GM Manager.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2-3 years of HBC/GM merchandising experience;
• High School diploma or GED
• Valid Drivers License
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts;
• Minimal age of 18 years.
• Ability to hear, speak, and understand the spoken word;
• Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency in order to read and understand;
• Employee must regularly move and/or lift up to 50lbs;
• While performing the duties, the employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and talk or hear;
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision with the ability to adjust focus.
