Job Title: 1529 FT SVP Director of Operations - Jasper, IN

Overview:

As the SVP, Director of Operations at German American, you have a demonstrated ability to lead and direct all duties of a centralized Loan and Deposit Operations area within a growing bank. You are a visionary leader and collaborative partner, guiding and advancing the culture of German American with our values of integrity, relationships, excellence, service and inclusion. With the company’s strategic plan as a guiding framework, you will optimize internal and external customer experiences and streamline business processes and systems for heightened efficiency and enhanced controls. Your role includes providing guidance and direction of key elements of bank operations to ensure the bank is meeting all regulatory, legal and compliance requirements. 

What You’ll Do:

Your days are spent leading the operations teams in partnership with all business lines and at all levels of the company. As the visionary leader, you are responsible for re-engineering business processes and systems for efficiency gains, improved controls and exceptional customer service. You will apply your skills in project management, strategic thinking, and analysis. Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Providing leadership in the development and implementation of new products, services, and systems.
  • Managing the Bank’s operational risk exposure by supporting the lines of business to identify areas of operational risk exposure and by developing and implementing corrective action.
  • Designing, developing and updating the Bank’s Guidelines and Procedures, and ensure compliance to all operational guidelines, processes and procedures.
  • Partnerships with all lines of business and external vendors such as:
  1. Retail, Commercial, Treasury Management, Mortgage, etc. to best deliver back-office operations that support an exceptional customer experience.
  2. Technology Services, Digital Banking, Continuous Improvement, Project Management, Training, Compliance and others to ensure effective management of the bank’s loan and deposit operations.
  3. Financial technology solution providers and other vendors to optimize systems and services used by the loan and deposit services departments.
  4. Accounting and finance to best manage efficiencies, resource allocation, budgeting, financial reporting and measurements.
  • Supervisory responsibility includes the direct leadership of the managers of the Loan Operations and Deposit Services divisions, and indirectly responsible for all employees within the division.
  • Serves as a member of the Senior Management Team.

What it takes:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in banking, finance or related area.
  • Work Experience: 10 years of diverse banking operations management experience, with 5 years of senior-level leadership experience. Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of integrity, confidentiality, and strong work ethic, including timely follow-through of commitments.
  • Skills must include: Strategic thinking including the ability to analyze situations, make timely decisions, align with corporate initiatives, and plan for the future capitalizing on opportunities for improvement, advancement, and innovation, familiarity and an understanding of a sales and customer service culture and aligning operations to those initiatives, reviewing analytics and regulatory requirements and creating operations and actions to match.
  • Communication Skills: Communicating effectively (both written and verbally across a diverse spectrum), collaboration, working effectively with others, fostering teamwork, building a positive rapport.
  • Ability to Travel: Travel will be required to multiple operations hubs in the footprint of the organization, including but not limited to Owensboro, KY, Shelbyville, KY and Evansville, IN.
