Position Description

Gerber Childrenswear is seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven web project specialist to oversee technology integrations and development of web-based projects from the inception stage to the live online deployment on Gerberchildrenswear.com. This role will collaborate with key stakeholders on the scope of web-based projects, lead internal and external teams in the development of new / updated technology, and prepare project status reports. The web project specialist will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining existing technology. 

To ensure success as a web project specialist, the ideal candidate should possess experience in web design and development, strong communication skills to lead web development initiatives and the ability to manage multiple projects. A first-class web project specialist will be someone who can find creative and innovative solutions to enhance and grow our website.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Consulting with key stakeholders to determine clear deliverables, expectations and timelines for web-based projects and initiatives
  • Research and evaluate technology solution options and present the cost/benefit analysis to Director of eCommerce to determine prioritization for site updates and new technology initiatives
  • Communicate with internal and external development teams to ensure project requirements and timelines are met
  • Work with UI/UX Analyst and Marketing to ensure all designs are user-friendly, SEO-friendly, ADA compliant and follow web best practices.
  • Update and maintain all production technologies ensuring proper maintenance and installation.
  • Troubleshooting and testing new technology, as well as monitoring the live deployment.
  • Ensure development projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Documenting website development processes and procedures.
  • Preparing project progress updates for senior executives and performing website demonstrations.
  • Keeping abreast of developments and trends in website design and development.
  • Coordinate with Merchandising, Marketing and eCommerce Coordinators to ensure seamless deployment of all marketing campaigns and product launches
  • Create and maintain custom pages using WYSIWIG-style customization tools and minor HTML/CSS changes
  • Support overall site structure, including recommendations based on experience, best practices and market research

  • Superb leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.

  • Relevant knowledge of advancements and trends in web design and development.
  • Exceptional ability to contribute creativity and innovation to web projects.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science with coursework in graphic design, web development, or similar.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript, preferred.
  • Experience with Shopify, preferred.
  • Experience in project management, preferred.
