About This Position:Guilmette Middle School is seeking a middle school Science Teacher to join our team of skilled and passionate educators. This Science Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering rigorous, standards-based instruction, and to support and differentiate for a diverse cohort of students, including at least one section of sixth graders. Teachers at the Guilmette Middle School are expected to collaborate with colleagues, build positive relationships with students, and foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment. Teachers at Guilmette Middle School frequently have the opportunity to co-teach with special educators and other staff. This individual will report to the Principal and will work closely with their grade level teams, teachers of multi-lingual learners, Special Educators. and the School Leadership Team. Responsibilities:The Educator’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:Teach, reinforce, remediate, and ensure mastery of academic content with individual students, small groups of students, and whole class(es) of students;Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards and MA frameworks;Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards;Use assessment data to refine curriculum and modify instructional practices;Communicate effectively, consistently, and professionally with students, families, and colleagues;Provide support, accommodations, and attention to all students;Participate in curriculum and professional development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions;Ensure students are engaged and invested in the classroom, managing behavior and providing incentives;Comply with school, district, and statewide policies and regulations;Be accountable for students’ mastery of academic standards; andComplete other duties as assigned.
