What Will You Do?

As our Events Marketing Manager, you will be a key support member of the marketing and recruitment teams. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this individual will be responsible for spearheading the strategic and tactical planning of a wide range of events across the United States and Canada. You will strive to continuously improve the presentation of GSI’s brand while meeting designated goals and milestones. Responsibilities

What work will I be performing?

• Work with marketing and recruiting teams to develop event strategy and objectives; spearhead initiatives to meet objectives based on lead generation, recruitment pipeline, event Return on Investment (ROI) and more
• Create and manage the timeline, program, budget, and task list for all GSI sales and assist with recruiting events as needed.
• Lead all event planning and production meetings and discussions
• Organize and lead collaboration with the marketing team on event concept, graphic design/production/printing, and event marketing
• Negotiate costs and services with vendors; book event space, arrange food and beverage, order all supplies/decorations, coordinate audiovisual equipment & operation, make travel arrangements
• Coordinate the logistics for shipping supplies and staff travel to and from event locations
• Secure event staffing and manage all elements of on-site staff expectations including dress/appearance, presentation materials, lead capture process
• Secure guest speakers and entertainment for lead generation workshops and webinars; coordinate show flow, promotional assets, communication plans, rehearsals
• Work with venue to create/revise room layouts/seating arrangements for each event as necessary
• Manage on-site production and clean up for events as necessary
• Organize and manage the invitation, registration and attendee check-in processes for internal events
• Manage the follow-up with vendors, sponsors and staff members following each event
• Other duties as assigned

Event Administration includes but is not limited to: 

• Assist with preparing budgets and provide periodic progress reports to staff directors for each event project
• Keep track of event finances including check requests, invoicing, and reporting
• Research venue options, coordinate appointments and visits to see venue space, and schedule events on the calendar
• Prepare and modify event contracts as requested

Qualifications

Who Do I Need to Bring?

• CMP (Certified Meeting Planner) with experience in the construction and/or human services industry
• Experience in events with sales and/or recruitment goals
• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
• 2 years prior experience coordinating events of up to 500 guests
• Willingness to travel up to 50%
• Experience with office administration
• Experience integrating outbound advertising and communications into event planning and execution
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Superior time management skills, multi-tasking abilities, and a cross-departmental team player.
• Budget management and negotiation skills
• Ability to accomplish projects independently
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of professionalism
• Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality
• Experience with hiring and managing vendors for event production
• Internet research and email savvy
