Georgia Tech Research Institute is Hiring a Test Systems Software Intern Fall 2024 - ELSYS Near Smyrna, GA

Job DescriptionThe Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) is currently seeking a Student Intern in the Test Engineering Division (TEN) for Fall 2024.
Test Engineering Division (TEN) provides Test and Evaluation (T&E) capability for Electronic Warfare (EW), Avionics, and Radar Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) test systems. These systems provide high fidelity simulation and stimulation of real-time Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR), Radio Frequency (RF), and Avionics environments for testing EW, Avionics and Radar systems that are used to protect aircraft from ground and airborne threats.
This broad range of research will provide a solid foundation for the student as a future software engineer. The student will work under the guidance of GTRI researchers performing research and development in one of the following areas –
  • Sensing and processing broad bands of the electromagnetic spectrum
  • Creating a complex electromagnetic environment used to test Aircraft Protection systems
  • Controlling and configuring HITL test stations
  • Using Machine Learning and/or data science for data analysis applications
The student researcher will perform one or more of the following activities –
  • Design, code, and debug Windows and Linux software, embedded systems software, FPGA firmware, or web technologies for electronic warfare or radar systems test applications
  • Conduct testing of Windows and Linux application software, embedded systems software, FPGA firmware or web technologies
  • Develop software test tools
  • Assist with conducting trade studies, writing technical reports, and writing and conducting tests
Required Minimum QualificationsIntern
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related.
  • 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Must be registered for Full-time Internship Credit
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in more than 1 programming language
  • Automated testing experience
  • Ability to perform research independently
  • Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
  • Configuration management tools
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas

U.S. Citizenship RequirementsDue to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
Clearance Type RequiredCandidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
Housing and RelocationHousing and relocation assistance are not available for this position.
