Project/Unit DescriptionGTRI/SISD is seeking a Director, Combat Air Force (CAF) Advanced Programs, Program Development. Performs as Liaison to Air Combat Command Advanced Programs. Integrates a highly classified Science and Technology portfolio into actionable enterprise plans. Enterprise plans blend USAF Science and technology pursuit with other DOD services at the component level.
Articulates non-DoD technology and technology needs into innovative solutions for fielding of Air Force requirements.
Job PurposeThe Research Program Manager directs and oversees a portfolio of research projects that includes internal and external sponsor and stakeholder engagement. The Research Program Manager is responsible both for the oversight of technical execution, schedule, and budget of assigned portfolios. Specifically, the Research Program Manager develops the planning of programs and future projects through routine interactions with stakeholders. The Research Program Manager develops trusted relationships with sponsors and also serves in an advisory capacity to critical stakeholders defining the technical direction of projects and technical thrusts.
Key ResponsibilitiesPursue research opportunities for GTRI focusing on program technology focus areas identified by Sensors and Intelligent Systems Directorate and GTRI leadership. Examples of potential technology research activities included: o Develop new concepts in rapid planning and operations using capabilities from all domains in a synchronized, cooperative and efficient manner. o Develop kill web architectures crossing multiple domains, classification levels and including all military services in order to rapidly complete the find, fix, track, target, engage and assess (F2T2EA). o Combine emerging Department of Defense (DoD) and other Government agency data sets to improve situational awareness across all echelons of decision makers at the strategic, operational and tactical levels of warfare.
