Project/Unit DescriptionThe Hardware Security & Trust (HST) Division at GTRI performs research in microelectronic applications, tools, architectures, and materials to enhance the security, trust, and reliability of microelectronic devices, hardware platforms, and the critical systems which rely upon them.
Job PurposeLead multiple sponsored research projects. Assist Division Chief with operations including overhead budget management, hiring, AIS support and facilities management.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Division space and facilities including moves, furniture, office assignments and equipment
  • Manage Division overhead budgets including RMA, Professional Development and Materials and Supplies
  • Ensure sponsored research projects are appropriately supported -Assist Division Chief with hiring
Additional Responsibilities
  • Track aggregate Division backlog and hiring needs
  • Coordinate Division project timelines and milestones
Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience executing operational management tasks, e.g., project budgeting, staffing, reporting, hiring, and other operational tasks
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a research environment, e.g., writing proposals, advising students or engineers on technical work and research activities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary research or engineering teams
  • Experience representing organizational capabilities in a technical setting, e.g., conferences, program reviews, business meetings
  • Knowledge of microelectronics design tools and fabrication processes
Travel Requirements<10% travel
Education And Length Of ExperienceThis position vacancy is an open-rank announcement. The final job offer will be dependent on candidate qualifications in alignment with Research Faculty Extension Professional ranks as outlined in section 3.2.1 of the Georgia Tech Faculty Handbook
  • 14 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related.
  • 12 years of related experience with a Masters’ degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related.
  • 9 years of related experience with a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related.
U.S. Citizenship RequirementsDue to our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be U.S. Citizens.
Clearance Type RequiredCandidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
