Job Summary:The Bookstore Assistant Manager is responsible for operating a point of sale system and helping customers in a technical college bookstore.
Essential Functions:

·Oversee the day-to-day operation of the technical college bookstore; ·Configure and enter each semester’s Course Request to generate textbook purchase orders ·Correspondence with vendors in ordering textbooks ·Accurately create new items into inventory ·Accurately enter price changes in inventory | (50%) |
·Correspondence with vendors to order general merchandise and textbooks ·Submits purchase requisitions in the State Purchasing system for ordering general merchandise ·Receives all textbooks and general merchandise into the college software program ·Accurately enters all invoices into the college software program ·Accurately maintain assigned cash for registers ·Assist students in obtaining the correct textbooks for their course ·Process all POS transactions including posting sales to the student’s financial aid accounts | (25%) |
·Correcting cash register entries and recalculating incorrect sales transactions ·Prepares daily cash reports ·Create promotional activities to increase daily sales and community awareness; ·Accurately record’s inventory counts into college software program ·Stocks shelves with books and supplies | (15%) |
·Performs general clerical duties ·Interview and manage Federal Work Studies to assist in bookstore operations ·Process and ship all Mail orders in the college software program ·Travel to other locations to work | (5%) |

Work Environment:
This job operates in a college bookstore environment.This role routinely uses standard office equipment and cash register equipment.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear.The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time administrative position.Work load is Monday-Friday day/evening hours.

Travel to other campuses is a possibility for meetings, trainings, professional development, etc.…
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent *and* One (1) year work of related work experience
