Georgia Spine & Orthopaedics is a Comprehensive Spine and Orthopedics Care provider in GA. Our locations include Atlanta, Columbus, Gwinnett, Marietta, Tucker, Stockbridge, Roswell, and the Surgery Center of Roswell. We specialize in offering cutting-edge treatment with a conservative approach. 

We are looking for a PRN Pre-Op PACU RN at our Surgery Center in Roswell. The shift will be 6-10 hours per week.

The Pre-Op PACU RN provides ongoing assessments and nursing care to patients in the facility following the Physician's orders, policies, procedures, and processes within the practice's scope. Participates in the teaching of patients and families and provides leadership by working cooperatively with other healthcare team members. Collaborates with physicians and team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Maintains standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. ?

Job Responsibilities

• Preparing patients for the planned procedure 
• Obtaining the patient's medical history, including medications, allergies, and reactions. 
• Carrying out physician's orders.? 
• Observing the patient's medical condition including vital signs, affect, pain, and symptoms requiring further evaluation and treatment, and escalating concerns to the physician.? 
• Completing post-op and pre-op calls if needed for the next or previous surgery days. 
• Educating the patient including providing instructions in preparation for discharge.? 
• Administering medications per physician order. 
• Appropriate documentation of care.? 
• Always maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Maintaining patients' rights 
• Must be competent at complicated IV sticks. 
• Communicating to the patient and the care team effectively.? 
• Maintaining positive and effective interpersonal relationships. 
• ?Maintaining appropriate supplies and medication. 
• Assisting with the preparation and performance of procedures.? 
• Assisting in medical records maintenance.? 
• Utilizing safe practices and controls to protect patients and self from infection and exposure.? 
• Reporting and documenting any unusual occurrences and incidents promptly.? 
• Serve as a clinical resource.? 
• Supervise non-licensed personnel as assigned.? 
• Demonstrating professional accountability.? 
• Observing facility policies, procedures, and processes. 
• Other duties as assigned. ? 

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) 
• Must hold a current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. 
• ACLS and BLS-certified 
• Previous experience in a PACU or critical care setting is preferred.
• Experience with pre-operative assessment, monitoring, and patient care is essential.
• Knowledge of anesthesia recovery and post-operative care protocols.
