Georgia Skin Cancer is Hiring a Medical Records Specialist Near Watkinsville, GA

We are currently seeking a medical records/referral coordinator to sustain and extend excellence to our patients, staff and community.

As a Medical Records/Referral Coordinator, Responsibilities Include

  • Distributing medical files to appropriate departments and/or agencies according to laws and regulations
  • Works closely with administration and staff to support the requests from patients and outside entities with obtaining records
  • Assist patients, staff and affiliates with medical records requests
  • Assisting with departmental audits
  • Maintaining quality and accurate records by following company procedures
  • Ensuring patient charts, paperwork, and reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensuring that all medical records are protected and kept confidential
  • Completing clerical duties, including answering phones, and responding to emails
  • Responsible for all incoming authorizations, whether received on paper, by phone or electronic submission
  • Makes calls to patients or external agencies as needed and coordinates with professional staff for follow up and tracking of referral completion

Medical Records/Referrals Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in medical records
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
