Job Summary

Front Desk Student Assistants in the Academic Enhancement Center create a warm, welcoming environment that encourages student success. Front desk student assistants facilitate student flow ensuring the AEC's mission and vision while maintaining frontline customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule appointments with tutors
  • Engage in superior customer service
  • Advertise tutorial and PSI support to students
  • Take accurate notes
  • Participate in AEC events around campus
  • Refer students to the proper coordinator/director as needed
  • Welcome students to the AEC
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours at Georgia Gwinnett College
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Minimum education required: High School diploma or GED
  • Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment
  • Must be in good standing with the Office of Student Integrity and maintain good standing for the duration of employment
  • Must complete and return a detailed background application packet that is subject to verification and a criminal history check
  • Must be flexible to attend and/or represent the AEC or STS at offsite or on-campus workshops or staff meetings
  • Must be able to participate in professional development opportunities to enhance the program's efficiency
  • Must have the ability to work well with their peers and/or other students within the GGC community, either in the AEC or at other locations across campus
  • Must be able to handle confidential information
  • Must be able to maintain a regular weekly schedule throughout the semester
  • Must be able to complete administrative tasks in a detail-oriented, timely fashion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to multi-task in a busy customer service-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher
  • Experience with social media
  • High achievers/ Dean's List

Position requires local travel. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus.
