Job Summary

The Fraternity and Sorority Life Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the design and implementation of programs and services to promote learning, growth, and development for the community of four governing councils (College Panhellenic Council, Interfraternity Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and United Greek Council) of 22 fraternities and sororities, involving more than 2,100 students, with special emphasis on academic achievement, values-based leadership, belonging, and social responsibility.
The Coordinator will work to maintain advising and support services for affiliated fraternities and sororities and their associated constituency groups.
The Coordinator will assist with various special assignments and projects within Fraternity and Sorority Life and support department-specific programs and initiatives (e.g., Panhellenic Recruitment, IFC Recruitment, Greek Weekend, Winter Summit, etc.).

Responsibilities

Administrative Support - 30
  • General office duties include submitting space reservations, scheduling meetings/events/appointments, answering phone calls, assisting visitors with requests, managing email and social media accounts
  • Coordinate online submissions, tracking and assessment of chapter/council programs; establish and publish community grade report; manage chapter rosters
  • Help to oversee student office support staff by assisting in delegating daily responsibilities
  • Prepare special reports; answers requests for information which may include completing questionnaires and compiling data from files
  • Assist in advising the four governance councils
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned
Programming - 40
  • Assess student program interests and create, develop, and plan cultural, educational, social, and wellness programs for the campus with intentional learning outcomes
  • Assist in coordinating recruitment processes, including promotion, registration, execution, and follow-up
  • Help with coordination and execution of various FSL, Student Life, and other university events, including but not limited to Greek Weekend, Week of Welcome, Panhellenic Recruitment, IFC Recruitment, Winter Summit, Bobcat Marketplaces, and Admission events (FallFest, SpringFest, and Summer Orientation)
Advising - 20
  • Represent Greek Life at on and off-campus events and related issues.
  • Assist with the arrangement of advising sessions with Greek Councils, chapters, and advisory affiliate groups.
Marketing - 5
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive advertising and marketing plan for FSL and council activities using various software and platforms
Other - 5
Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to creating departmental marketing materials, assisting other departments with campus-wide events, and serving on campus committees

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience
Prior involvement as a student leader in co-curricular programs

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Enrollment in graduate level courses in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related discipline
Preferred Experience
Experience advising fraternities and/or sororities, including coaching and/or mentoring student leaders in a professional role
Demonstrated knowledge of student development theory
