Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a Pre-op/PACU Nurse. The Pre-op/PACU Nurse will be responsible for preparing patients for procedures and/or providing post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery. This is a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.
Duties:
- Monitor patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels
- Assess patients' pain levels and administer appropriate pain management techniques
- Monitor patients for any signs of complications or adverse reactions to anesthesia
- Assist with the insertion of intravenous (IV) lines and administer medications as needed
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth transition from the operating room to the recovery area
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding post-operative care and recovery
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including documentation of medications administered and patient progress
- Performs selected duties as delegated by the Administrator/DON or others in the facility
Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associates degree or higher; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Pre-op/PACU/Phase 2 or similar setting
- ASC experience preferred
- BLS & ACLS certifications required
- Strong skills in IV insertion and medication administration
- Experience in case management and patient assessment
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
